This is a little strange since it was never a real issue in the past but they are strictly enforcing this safety precaution now. Gold Rusher operators are not allowing ANY loose bags or articles on the attraction. One interesting policy that seems to have reared its head again. The Presidents day weekend saw healthy attendance in the park with the most popular attractions enjoying average to long waits. The plum supports are now being turned a bright orange. The track is getting an eye-popping new paint job that makes no attempt to blend into the surroundings. Speaking of Scream, it too is enjoying a refurbishment as the new Steampunk District takes shape just outside its entrance. With half of colossus second bank shaved off the top, Scream is far more visible. Discarded wood is piled up alongside the project. This structure will support one of the corkscrews. Here workers reinforce the the existing wooden supports. The rest of the track has been trimmed drastically, offering a good idea of the heights that the coaster will reach. The “Hi-Five” element will bank the trains, head-to-head, making it seem as if riders could reach out and give each other hi-fives. Trains will head up the blue track first, go around the course, then climb the green track for the second go around.Īfter that first drop the trains will travel up this hill and into the “Hi-Five”. Track now stretches from the station, up and over the lift hill, and up the second hill, stopping just short of the “Hi-Five” element. Near the station, the orange trains have been staged.Ī closer look at the construction shows progress since our last update. While hesitant to announce an official opening date, you can probably guess their target.

With roughly 40 percent of the track installed, the new Twisted Colossus is on track for a late spring/early summer opening. Twisted ‘Wiches will be a gourmet sandwich shop. The food location will become a new sandwich shop, the theatre will enjoy a retheme. To the left is the old ice cream stand, to the right is the Magic Moments Theatre. Magic Moments will be rethemed into the Gearworks Theatre. This week we were invited to take a look past the construction walls to inspect the progress on the new Steampunk District of Six Flags Magic Mountain.
#COLOSSUS ROLLER COASTER FULL#
Next we see that there is plenty to buy in the bargain hut near Apocalypse, and that they are moving the stage around at Full Throttle again. We discover a rather bizarre loose article policy on one of the park’s more gentle coasters, the Gold Rusher. This past weekend was a busy one with large crowds descending on the park.
After that we take a stroll through the park, looking at odds and ends.

We will also take a look at the progress on the new Steampunk District that will lead to the two coasters. The floorless coaster, Scream, is also enjoying a full refurbishment and repainting. Twisted Colossus is currently under construction and we have an exciting tease of what’s to come. We come to you this week from the coaster capital of the world, Six Flags Magic Mountain.
